Shubman departs cheaply [X.com]
Indian skipper Shubman Gill, leading the team for the first time, experienced a disappointing dismissal in the second T20I against Zimbabwe in Harare on Sunday (June 7). Following a surprising defeat in the first T20I, Gill faced immense pressure as he came to bat.
Opting to bat first, India aimed to set a challenging target, but their plans were quickly disrupted. In the second over, Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani delivered a crucial blow by removing Gill. The young skipper managed to score only 2 runs before falling prey to Muzarabani's precise bowling.
The incident unfolded as Muzarabani, bowling from over the wicket, pitched a full delivery on the fourth stump line. Shubman Gill, attempting to hit the ball over mid-on, failed to get the required elevation.

The ball sailed straight to mid-on, where Bennet took a sharp catch inside the circle, sealing Gill’s fate early in the innings.
Gill’s departure left India at 22 for 1 in 4 overs, with the team needing to regroup and stabilize their innings. Muzarabani’s breakthrough set the tone for Zimbabwe, putting India under pressure right from the start.
