India needed a miracle on Day 3 to push Australia on the back-foot, and the opposite happened on the second delivery of the morning session as Scott Boland cleaned up KS Bharat with a peach of a delivery.
On a bright day at the Oval, Ajinkya Rahane and KS Bharat had a monumental task on their hands, but Boland had some other plans as the mini-partnership was broken on the second delivery itself.
Bharat was already on the back-foot when Boland delivered a good length ball, just a shade outside the off stump. It nipped back in sharply and breached Bharat's defence to knock over the stumps. The Indian keeper was on his knees as he couldn't believe what just took place.
Australia had a dream start and Boland was jubilant. The pitch had some demons and the Aussie bowler utilised it to perfection to dismiss KS Bharat.
Talking about the match, India are on the back-foot, tottering at 154 for 6, still trailing by 315 runs. India need 115 more runs to avoid the follow-on. Shardul Thakur has joined Rahane at the crease, who's batting on 31 at the moment.
