Rahul Tripathi did not play most of the IPL 2024 but made a rollicking comeback against Punjab Kings just ahead of the playoffs and continued his form in the all-important final as well with a knock of 55 off 35 balls. He was looking good for much more, but a big mix-up with Abdul Samad ended his promising knock.

The wicket came in the 14th over and the first ball of the same over, Abdul Samad had blasted a six. The next delivery was a short delivery, outside off and Samad cut it left of the point. Russell there though did brilliantly and stopped the ball with a dive.

The effort did not stop there, just after collecting the ball, Russell quickly threw it towards the batter's end and it created a big mix-up between the batters. Samad was ball-watching and did not attend his partner's call, both the batters were midway down the pitch, but after seeing Russell throwing towards the batter's end, Samad made a big mistake of moving towards the bowler's end and well-set Rahul Tripathi was left high and dry.

Gurbaz did the rest and whipped the bails off in flash as Tripathi was nowhere in the picture and on the next delivery Narine cleaned up Sanvir Singh as well to put KKR right on top after a brief recovery by SRH.
