Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had an incredible outing with the bat against Sri Lanka, as he clobbered 53 runs off just 48 balls with seven fours and two sixes. However, besides his scintillating stroke play, it was Sharma's athletic fielding that stole the show during the second half of the game. 

Regarded as a safe fielder, Sharma earned massive applause for his commendable fielding effort that helped ace spinner Ravindra Jadeja dismiss the Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka cheaply. 

The incident occurred in the 26th over of Sri Lankan innings when the hosts were tottering at 99 for five while chasing a steep target of 214. Jadeja, using all his experience, bowled a flighted delivery, drawing Shanaka into a drive off his front foot. 

The batter fell in the trap, as he played a wrong shot, edging it straight to the first slip. 

However, it wasn't an easy chance by any means, as the ball kept low and was travelling fast. But Rohit Sharma put up an incredible effort, diving towards his right and holding on to a sharp catch.

After Shanaka departed, Dhananjaya de Silva and Dunith Wellalage have put up a fight for Sri Lanka, powering them to 116 for six in 28.2 overs as of writing.
