Indian captain Rohit Sharma had another forgettable outing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as his Australian counterpart Pat Cummins dismissed him cheaply in the ongoing third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. Coming at number six, Rohit managed only ten runs before Cummins dismissed him with a ripper. 

The incident occurred during the 24th over of India's first innings when Rohit Sharma was trying to steady the ship alongside KL Rahul. The duo had a positive start to the day, countering the Australian bowlers with utmost precision. However, as the Indian fans started hoping for a turnaround from Rohit, the Indian captain once again failed to play an impactful knock at a crucial stage. 

After starting his over with two consecutive dot balls, Cummins pitched the ball up, luring Rohit onto a drive. However, as it wasn't a half volley from the Australian captain, Rohit managed only an outside edge, with wicketkeeper Alex Carey taking a simple catch behind the stumps. 

Thus, Rohit got out while poking at a delivery pitched around the fourth stump line just like his long-time India teammate Virat Kohli.

Amid another batting collapse at one end, KL Rahul has been rock-solid in the middle, carrying the Indian innings with his stoic technique and brave stroke-play. At the time of writing, India were tottering at 84 for five, with Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja batting on 53* and 3*, respectively.
