While the game paused momentarily, the stadium echoed with chants and clamour. Amidst it all, Rohit identified Dipak in the sea of supporters. In a touching display of affection, Sharma pointed his bat towards Patel, signalling his recognition and appreciation.

To make the moment even more memorable, he motioned for Patel to fly the Indian tricolour high and proud, a request immediately and proudly heeded by the enthusiastic fan.

Dipak Patel's fandom is well-documented. Over the years, he has been a recognizable figure in numerous matches, supporting Rohit and the Indian team.

While Rohit's gesture was a highlight, it should not overshadow India’s stellar performance. Resuming play on the reserve day at 147/2, both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli painted a masterclass with the bat, stitching a mammoth 233-run partnership.
