Former Indian opener Robin Uthappa won a billion hearts through commendable sportsmanship in the high-voltage final of the World Championship of Legends (WCL).

On Saturday, India Champions secured a clinical five-wicket win over their Pakistani counterparts in the much-awaited WCL 2024 final to clinch the coveted trophy.

Batting first, Pakistan Champions could post a respectable 156-run total, which the Indians chased in 19.1 overs, riding on a blistering half-century from Ambati Rayudu.

However, besides India's dominance, an incident that grabbed the fans' attention was Robin Uthappa's praiseworthy gesture towards Misbah-ul-Haq.

Legendary Pakistan batter Misbah-ul-Haq, who came to bat as a finisher at number six, pulled his hamstring while batting. Misbah, 50, sustained the injury after running multiple doubles during Pakistan's innings.

However, as he experienced the pain and started limping off the field, India's opener and wicket-keeper Robin Uthappa came forward to help him, placing his left arm on his shoulders.

Misbah's instant pat on Uthappa's back and the crowd's cheer for the Indian veteran showcased the unity and sportsmanship that transcends borders in the cricket community.

Meanwhile, Uthappa, who struck a blazing fifty against Australia, failed to step up with the bat as Aamer Yamin dismissed him for ten runs.

However, scintillating knocks from Ambati Rayudu, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Yusuf Pathan guided India home with five balls to spare.
