Rashid Khan has wowed cricket fans with his unmatched abilities ever since his debut. The Afghanistan leg-spinner made his mark yet again on Tuesday during Afghanistan’s World Cup warm-up match against Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Batting on 29* off 54 deliveries, Sadeera Samarawickrama was on strike during the 35th over of Sri Lanka’s innings after Afghanistan asked them to bat first. Rashid pitched at length and bowled a venomous googly, which Samarawickrama could not pick.

The ball went on to hit the middle stump, and the Sri Lankan middle-order batsman was seen absolutely bamboozled in the stadium.


Rashid was delighted to get him in that manner, especially because it was his first and only success of the day.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka failed to put on a strong finish after Kusal Mendis' unbeaten 87-ball 158 helped his side go berserk in the majority of the innings. However, none of his teammates hit a half-century from the other end, leaving them to close on 294 in 46.2 overs while losing all ten wickets.

For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi was the most impressive bowler by claiming 4/44 in his eight overs.
