India's out-of-favour batter Prithvi Shaw showcased glimpses of his incredible hitting prowess, hammering his way through to a sensational half-century in Mumbai's ongoing Irani Trophy encounter against Rest Of India in Lucknow. Opening the batting for the reigning Ranji Trophy champions, Shaw smashed eight fours and a six, completing his fifty in just 37 balls.

In response to Mumbai's first-innings score of 537 runs, the Rest of India posted a daunting 416-run total, thanks to Abhimanyu Easwaran's batting masterclass. Despite missing out on a well-deserved double ton, Easwaran received massive applause for his marathon 191-run knock.

On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw played a pivotal role in Mumbai's batting dominance in the second innings. While the explosive right-handed batter respected the good deliveries, he didn't hesitate to capitalise on the poor balls, dispatching them into the fence.

The experienced Mumbai batter, who endured a failure in the last innings, played his natural game, dominating ROI's bowling unit with his scintillating stroke play. He brought up his fifty in no time, achieving the milestone during the 12th over of Mumbai's second innings.

As Saransh Jain bowled a good length delivery outside the off stump, Prithvi Shaw played a delicate late cut to complete his half-century.
