The lone test match of the extensive Australian Women's tour of India went on floors earlier today at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Alyssa Healy won the toss and backed her side to bat first and put the hosts under pressure. However, little did she know that the brave decision was going to backfire on her in an absolutely brutal manner.

As the Aussies took a stride, they lost opener Phoebe Litchfield on a diamond duck. Beth Mooney called for a risky single. But a young Phoebe watched the ball instead of trusting her partner's call and bore the repercussions of the same. The Indian fielders were calm and completed the run without any goof-ups.

With that, Australia was one down with a mere two runs on board. Nonetheless, the visitors felt confident as veteran Ellyse Perry walked out at number three. However, the Indians seemed prepared.

Pooja Vastrakar Sends Ellyse Perry Packing

Fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar came in from the other end to support Renuka Singh, and movement off the pitch encouraged captain Harmanpreet Kaur to bring in Vastrakar early.

Meanwhile, Pooja lived up to her captain's faith and bowled an absolute peach of a delivery to send big threat Perry packing. A good length in inswinger broke into Perry's defense and shattered the stumps in no time.

Perry initially looked headstrong to tap the delivery. But the gap between bat and pad was simply big enough to let Vastrakar break into it.

And with that, the Aussies were two with a mere seven runs on board, and the hosts were off to a dream start.

As of this writing, lunch has been called, and Australia's score stands at 103 runs at the loss of four wickets. After Perry and Phoebe, Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath followed their cue to the dressing room.

Needless to say, the visitors are in a deep mess, and the responsibility to lead her side to a respectable total lies on Captain Alyssa Healy.
