India's wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant, has always been a treasured Test player. His ability to take on the attack at crucial junctures of the game, like today, makes him a valuable asset to the team in the longest format of the game.

Pant's return to red-ball cricket was highly awaited after an unfortunate accident in December 2022 left him in a precarious spot. However, his story has been one for the history pages, from fighting for his life to now fighting on-field for his team.

Yashasvi-Pant Save The Day After Horrific Start

India, who are currently in an intense battle with Bangladesh, in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, faced an uphill battle right at the start as the formidable top-order consisting of captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. 

Rohit departed after scoring just six runs off 19 balls, whereas Gill had a torrid outing as he departed for an 8-ball duck. The hopes, however, remained strong as Virat Kohli entered the field. However, it was not his day as Kohli departed for six runs off six balls. 

During this time, Yashasvi Jaiswal showed remarkable composure as he held his ground and bailed India out of a tricky situation. At the time of writing, India are at 88/3 with Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal out in the middle.
