[Watch] Pakistan And Afghanistan Fans Fight In Stands During 3rd ODI

Pakistan and Afghanistan's rivalry is known to be intense on and off the cricket field and it seems to have intensified further in the three-match ODI series held in Sri Lanka. The second T20I was a nail-biter and we saw some altercations between players in that game while in the third ODI, the fans were seen having a heated argument at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
In a video that has gone viral, a Sri Lankan who is supporting Pakistan and has a flag in his hand is having heated conversation with an Afghan supporter. The Afghan fan seems agitated with something and is pointing fingers at the Pakistani fan and other people around. The people around seem to be telling the Afghan fan to calm down but clearly there was something that he was offended about which has not been revealed in the video.
History of fights between Pakistan and Afghanistan fans
The fight between Afghanistan and Pakistan fans go back to the the Asia Cup 2022 when the ground facilities at the iconic Sharjah stadium were vandalised following a heartbreaking final-over loss for Afghanistan against Pakistan. The tensions were seen in the 2022 T20 World Cup as well and the political tensions off the field also seem to be contributing towards the rivalry that has grown quite a lot in the recent past.
Talking about cricket, Pakistan have whitewashed Afghanistan in the three-match ODI series winning the final ODI comfortably by 59 runs. Both teams will now go up against each other in the Asia Cup that will start on 30th of August.
