The CPL 2024 is now into its 18th match, and it is Barbados Royals up against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. The match start was delayed by 50 minutes due to rain, and Rovman Powell decided to bowl first with a bit of moisture on the pitch. Now, the bowlers have also made sure that they start off well and Naveen-ul-Haq, their overseas star got two big wickets in the Powerplay to set the momentum right for his side.

The right-arm pacer first got the wicket of his former LSG teammate Evin Lewis in the fourth over and then outfoxed Kyle Mayers, another LSG teammate to put Patriots in all sorts of trouble. The wicket of Mayers was on a juicy full toss which frustrated St. Kitts skipper Andre Fletcher at the other end and he was down on his knees after the dismissal.

It was a juicy full toss, around off and Kyle Mayers tried to tonk it towards the leg side. However, the powerful left-hander did not get any timing on his shot and ended up hitting it off the bottom of his blade. The ball went in the air towards mid off and Kadeem Alleyne took an easy catch.

Rahkeem Cornwall Rocks St. Kitts And Nevis Patriots

The wicket was a big blow to the visitors and after his dismissal, Rahkeem Cornwall bagged two wickets in a single over to put Patriots in a deep hole. This is exactly the start Barbados Royals needed and a win here would seal a playoff spot for Rovman Powell and company. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, on the other hand, need to win this game at any cost to keep their slim playoff hopes alive and after a poor start to this game now, they would need a special effort to pull off a win against a strong Royals unit.
