Cricket's greatest batsmen and bowlers have formed fierce rivalries over the years, and among them, one of the most mouth-watering was the battle between Sachin Tendulkar and Muttiah Muralitharan. Therefore, it was nostalgic to watch cricket's most successful batsman and bowler face off at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Muddenahalli, Karnataka, on Thursday.

It was an exhibition match in the One World-One Family T20 2024, in which Tendulkar was representing One World, and Muralitharan, alongside Yuvraj Singh, among others, was playing for One Family. After One Family posted 180/6 batting first, One World rode on Tendulkar’s fiery start to reach 72/1 in seven overs.

Then Muralitharan came into the attack. Tendulkar went to attack him straight away, and in the process, he holed out to Mohammad Kaif at long-on. In spite of the fact that it was only a friendly match, Muralitharan thoroughly enjoyed Tendulkar's wicket, while the Master Blaster began to return to the pavilion with a smile on his face after a brisk 16-ball 27.

Tendulkar averaged 32.7 against Muralitharan in Tests, scoring 196 runs while losing six wickets. However, in ODIs, Sachin only lost his wicket once against Muralitharan, making 83 runs.
