[Watch] Mohammad Rizwan Departs To A 'Killer' Bouncer From Gerald Coetzee

Riding on bowlers' impressive performance, South Africa have pushed Pakistan on the back foot in the ongoing World Cup clash in Chennai. After Marco Jansen got rid of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, promising pacer Gerald Coetzee broke the crucial stand between Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam by dismissing the former through an absolute snorter.

After Pakistan lost the openers in quick succession, Babar and Rizwan formed a consolidating 48-run stand to steady the ship. However, Coetzee jolted Pakistan with a massive blow, dismissing Rizwan in the 16th over of the innings.

Bowling his first over of the innings, Coetzee kept it tight initially, conceding only two runs in the first four deliveries.

However, he surprised Rizwan with a well-directed bouncer, as the batter went for a half-hearted hook short only to end up edging it. The Proteas keeper Quinton de Kock did the rest, jumping at the right time and holding on to the catch.

Following the dismissal, Coetzee celebrated aggressively, while Rizwan made his way back to the dugout with disappointment written all over his face.

As of writing, Pakistan are in a spot of bother, placed at 88 for three, with Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed batting on 27* and 2*, respectively.
