KL Rahul took 31 balls for his 33 on Sunday at Ekana Cricket Stadium, where Lucknow Super Giants took on Gujarat Titans in Match 21 of the IPL 2024.

Needless to say, it was a very unconventional T20 innings by the LSG skipper, who was about to break the shackles before losing his wicket.

After opting to bat first, Rahul lost his partner Quinton de Kock early. Even Devdutt Padikkal did not last long, as LSG slipped to 18/2 in no time. Marcus Stoinis and KL Rahul steadied the ship, adding 73 runs for the third wicket before the latter fell to Darshan Nalkande during the 13th over of LSG's innings.

It was a pitched up delivery by Nalkande, and Rahul saw the opportunity to go big. However, there was neither power nor timing behind the shot, leading to a huge top-edge towards long-on.

Placed nicely there, Rahul Tewatia kept his eyes on the ball, and took a brilliant catch to end his stay.
