[Watch] Josh Hazlewood's Peach Takes Babar Azam; PAK On Verge Of Losing MCG Test

Pakistan's hopes of a historic win in the Boxing Day Test took a huge beating on Day 4 of the marquee fixture as they lost their key man Babar Azam to a great delivery from Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood.

Hazlewood sent a terrific ball past Babar's defence and got it to crash into the stumps during the critical post-tea session with Pakistan still requiring another 171 runs to overhaul Australia at the iconic MCG.

Babar, who had fought resolutely for his knock of 41 off 78 deliveries to keep Pakistan alive in the hunt of the stiff 317-run target, was outfoxed completely by a lovely in-dipper from the prominent Aussie right-arm quick and was made to do another frustrating long walk back after missing out on a substantial innings.

It was for the third consecutive occasion in the series when Babar was out off an incoming delivery as doubts now emerge on the modern-day batter's technique to tackle the ball tailing into his forward defensive prod.

Hazlewood wasn't one bit complaining about Babar's failure to convert another start for the series. The tall right-arm seamer managed to get the ball to seam in late into the right-hander after pitching and bowled him through the gap created between the bat and the pad.

It was a significant blow to Pakistan's chances, reducing them to 146/4 in a position of strife on a drying and challenging surface at the MCG. The tourists needed Babar to be their hero, who could play a long innings and take Pakistan deep in the quest to reach home and level the series.

Another untimely dismissal meant that Babar's average for the series dipped to just 19.75 with 77 runs from four innings of the first two Tests. The batter will be hoping to make amends in the New Year's Test at SCG, starting January 3.
