Jitesh Sharma is a key player for Punjab Kings because of his superb power-hitting skills and was also appointed as the vice-captain before the 2024 season. He has played some handy cameos this season, and is quite safe behind the stumps as well. However, in the 17th match of the season, he was involved in a funny incident when he slipped quite hilariously while trying to stop the ball that was running away towards the fence.

The incident happened on the second delivery of the first over of Arshdeep Singh and it was a length delivery, on middle and leg. Saha tucked it fine towards the fine leg region and Jitesh Sharma with his wicketkeeping pads on, tried to chase the ball.

As he loaded for a dive, he stumbled, and fell badly on the ground as the ball raced away towards the fence.

Punjab Kings eventually got the wicket of Saha in the third over and Williamson, who came out to bat at number 3, also departed in the 9th over. However, Gill and Sai Sudharsan got going, and took GT to safer shores with Punjab Kings bowlers failing to maintain consistency.
