James Anderson retained wood over Indian captain Rohit Sharma even in the second innings of the Visakhapatnam Test as the great fast-bowler did the elegant opener with an unplayable outswinger that disrupted the stumps behind him. 

Anderson produced another jaffa to get rid of England's danger man, who could've come up with a quickfire knock and stretched India's first-innings lead after taking an advantage of 143 runs upon posting 396 all out. 


The master swing bowler set up Rohit for the one coming into the right-hander, which swung away late to hammer the off-stump, leaving Rohit in shock and disbelief over what had transpired. The skipper and veteran opener couldn't believe he was out despite doing most things correctly off an unplayable delivery.

Anderson once again managed to lift England's spirits at the start of a fresh morning and having forced Rohit to play for the incomer, produced an absolute peach which then moved away from the outside edge and sent the off-stump cartwheeling. 


The 41-year-old reinforced his class and greatness with one more jaffa in what has been a tremendous comeback to playing duties after a six-month layoff in Vizag. When the naysayers had started talking of his sunset, Anderson took 3 wickets in the first-innings and then dismissed Rohit with England battling for survival in the contest. 

The remarkable pacer had troubled the critical Indian opener in the first half also without dismissing him. But Rohit couldn't survive against him this Test match after clearly emerging disturbed and out of concentration at the crease. 

The wicket of Rohit also took Anderson closer to the unbelievable milestone of 700 Test match wickets as he now has a whopping 695 scalps to his name at an average of 26.31.
