The pitch invader, driven by adoration, made a beeline at former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, catching him off guard during a critical moment of the match.

In a display of affection, the fan also embraced wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan before attempting to dodge the security personnel in a bid to exit the field.

The Rohit Sharma fan hug instance marks the second occurrence of such an incident within a week in the IPL 2024 season, following a similar instance where a fan breached security to approach Virat Kohli during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnasamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
