Jake Fraser-McGurk once again failed to lit up the Big Bash League as the Delhi Capitals superstar signing was dismissed for a low score in the match against Hobart Hurricanes. So far, the explosive batter is yet to find his groove as the bowlers have undone him in successive games.

Batting at the top of the order for Melbourne Renegades, Fraser-McGurk was expected to showcase his brute strength against an under-fire Hurricanes bowling attack, but the opposition bowler, Billy Stanlake had some other plans.

Hurricanes got bundled out for a paltry 74, and the target was expected to be chased down with utmost ease. Fraser-McGurk started his innings with a boundary, but was undone by a back of a length ball outside the off. The Renegades batter tried to punch it away, but he got an inside-edge as the ball crashed onto the stumps.

After the dismissal, the right-handed batter was disappointed as he wanted to get some runs under his belt before the next match.

McGurk bought back by DC in IPL 2025 auction

He had a stellar IPL 2024 season, and despite scoring truckloads of runs, the talented batter was released ahead of the mega auction. However, DC went after him in the auction pool and bought his services for INR 9 crore, which could turn out to be the deal of the auction.

He is a fantastic batter and is known for giving explosive starts, something which the Capitals would need at the top of the order. Talking about the match, Renegades have won the match comfortably as they are home by 6-wickets, inside 9 overs.
