India and Pakistan are taking on each other in an intense clash in the Under 19 Asia Cup. The match is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 

Shahzaib Khan Played A Stellar Knock

Pakistan won the toss ahead of the game and opted to bat first. The openers provided them with a solid start and laid the platform for a big total. Shahzaib Khan continued even after the dismissal of his opening partner and played a stellar knock. The young opening batter scored 159 off 147 deliveries and helped the team reach a formidable total of 281/7 at the end of their 20 overs. Samarth Nagaraj emerged as the best bowler for India as he picked up three wickets for 45 runs in his four overs.

Ayush Mhatre Failed To Build On His Start

The Indian team needed a good start from their openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Mhatre looked good from the start of his innings and played some glorious shots. He moved 20 runs very quickly with five glorious boundaries. Just when he was settling down to make a big imapact in the game, Pakistan's young pacer Abdul Subhan accounted for him. 

On the fourth delivery of the fourth over, Subhan bowled a back of a length delivery around the fourth stump line. The ball moved away a bit after pitching. Mhatre was looking to defend the ball but ended up poking at it and getting outside edge that was taken by the keeper. This was a huge wicket for Pakistan and it was evident from the way the bowler celebrated. Subhan made it a point to send off Mhatre with full aggression, this gave the vibe that the India vs Pakistan rivalry is heating up even among the future generation.

CSK Called Aysh Mhatre For A Trial Ahead Of IPL 2025 Auction

Notably, ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, Ayush Mhatre made the headlines because the five-time IPL champions, CSK asked him to come for trial. News were roaming that MS Dhoni was impressed by his batting style and technique and that the franchise might bid for him during the auction. However, when Mhatre came under the hammer, CSK did not bid for him and the player went unsold.
