Injuries in cricket is not a new thing, but sometimes the players get badly injured which affects the momentum of the game.

A similar incident occurred in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh World Cup 2023 match, taking place at the Eden Gardens. Usama Mir, the Pakistan leg-spinner, injured his little finger, while trying to stop a ball.

The incident occurred in the 7th over bowled by Shaheen Afridi. It was on the fourth delivery when Afridi bowled a bouncer and Litton Das pulled it ferociously. The ball went near Usama Mir, who was standing at mid-wicket. The shot was crisply timed by Litton, but Mir cut his little finger trying to get a hand to it.

He looked in agonising pain as blood can be seen coming from his finger. Eventually, the Pakistan spinner went off the field as a precautionary measure.

Talking about the contest, it's a do-or-die contest for both the teams. After winning the toss, Bangladesh have been in a dire state, losing 3 wickets for just 38 on the board. Shaheen has been the pick of the bowlers, grabbing two crucial wickets to push Bangladesh on back-foot.
