The CPL 2024 is turning out to be quite an exciting tournament with some thrilling cricket and drama on the field. The 20th match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons turned out to be another dramatic match as a big controversy erupted in the game when Imad Wasim was given out in the 10th over of the match against Sunil Narine. The game was halted for more than five minutes, and there were raw, unseen moments witnessed on the field.

Imad Wasim Refuses To Walk Off The Field

It started with Imad Wasim being first given not out by the on-field umpire after an LBW appeal from Narine and other TKR players. They decided to take the DRS, and the third umpire reversed the on-field decision, so Wasim was given out. However, the Pakistan star was unhappy with the decision and protested passionately. He first had a heated talk with the umpire and then walked off the field, telling everyone to watch the replays, which clearly showed an inside edge onto the pad.

Imad Wasim Returns Back After Going Into The Dressing Room

Wasim walked off the field and Curtly Ambrose in the support staff of ABF was also visibly miffed by the decision. The umpires though looking at the replays and protest by Falcons' camp decided to call back Imad Wasim and it naturally did not go well with Trinbago Knight Riders' players.

Kieron Pollard, the skipper of Knight Riders then got involved in a heated chat with the umpire and it was all chaos on the field with no one sure of what the final decision will be. The umpires eventually decided that Imad Wasim would carry on, but it was one of the rarest events where the batter was called back to bat after returning to the dressing room. Imad Wasim took full advantage of that lifeline and took Antigua and Barbuda Falcons over the line to upset the mighty Knight Riders at the Queen's Park Oval.
