[Watch] Babar Azam Cleaned Up By Lahiru Kumara's Ripper in LPL 2023

Pakistani captain Babar Azam had a disappointing end to the Lanka Premier League 2023, being dismissed for a sloth-paced 12-ball six against Galle Titans. Opening the batting, the stylish southpaw hit a boundary to start with, but failed to play a match-winning knock for his side. 

Batting first, Colombo Strikers had a disastrous start to their innings, losing Pathum Nissanka in the second over. However, as Lahiru Udara stepped in as number three, the Strikers tried to consolidate their ship before Azam's dismissal jolted them with a serious blow. 

Experienced Sri Lankan speedster Lahiru Kumara exploited the friendly conditions on offer, bowling a terrific delivery, which came back slightly into Babar after pitching around the fourth stump. The Pakistani skipper failed miserably in covering the movement and ended up inside-edging the ball straight onto his stumps.

Regarding the game, Colombo Strikers lost wickets at regular intervals and bundled out for a paltry 74 in 15.4 overs. Tabraiz Shamsi and Seekkuge Prasanna were the wrecker-in-chiefs with the ball for the Titans, scalping four and three wickets, respectively. 

In response, the Titans raced to the 75-run target in just 8.3 overs. Lasith Croospulle was the chief contributor with the bat, amassing 42 runs off just 25 balls. 

The emphatic victory helped the Titans finish at the second position on the LPL 2023 points table. Up next, they will take on Dambulla Aura in the first Qualifier on Thursday at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
