Angelo Mathews, one of Sri Lanka's finest all-rounders, turned back the clock on Monday when he was in action in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 while representing Kandy Falcons.

The 37-year-old smashed four sixes on the bounce against Dambulla Sixers' Chamindu Wickramasinghe, and the insane thrashing reminded fans of MS Dhoni, who used to do it day in and day out during his international cricketing days.

More significantly, Mathews smashed four sixes on the bounce off the first four balls of the 20th over, which kept fans excited. It seemed like he would achieve the six-sixes record until he took a single off the penultimate delivery of the match.

Riding on Mathews' heroics, which went out of the park four times in an effortless manner, the Falcons posted 222/4 batting first. In reply, Dambulla Sixers closed on 168/9, losing the match by 54 runs.

Thus far, Mathews has smashed eight sixes in LPL 2024, having aggregated 233 runs over eight innings in the competition.
