South African opener Quinton de Kock never fails to amaze, and he showcased his prowess once again in the first match of the Super 8 in the T20 World Cup 2024 against the USA at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on June 19.

After being invited to bat first, de Kock set a blazing start for the Proteas. The highlight of his innings came in the 4th over, facing USA's right-arm medium pacer Jasdeep Singh. 

De Kock punished Singh severely, amassing 22 runs in the over. Aiden Markram began the over with a four, but it was de Kock who truly stole the show.

On the third ball, de Kock began his onslaught with a boundary over mid-wicket. He followed this up with a monstrous six over the same region, capitalizing on a no-ball to further punish the bowler. The next delivery saw another maximum, this time over the long leg fence, traveling a solid 60 meters.

De Kock wasn’t done yet. He launched a third consecutive six, this one off a top edge that soared high and cleared the backward square leg fence, sailing 63 meters. His explosive batting left the USA bowlers reeling and set the tone for South Africa's formidable innings.

At the time of writing, South Africa are at 97 for 1 in 10 overs.
