Not often you see a 122 metres six in a cricket match but in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) contest between the Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Renegades at the Docklands Stadium. The Aussie star unleashed beast mode as he single-handedly saved Stars' sinking ship.

The Stars batted first and the batting unit collapsed against some relentless bowling as the team lost half the side inside 50 runs and looked all set to get bundled out for a low score. However, just when the team needed a messiah to step up, Glenn Maxwell showed his class and broke the shackles to play one of the best BBL innings of this season.

The gigantic 122 metres six!

The Aussie superstar slammed a breath-taking 90 off 52 balls and the highlight of his magnificent innings was the 122 metres six which he smashed against Kane Richardson. The Renegades bowler bowled a length ball and it was just the length Maxwell needed to free his arms as the Stars' batter moved his left leg out of the way and hammered a gigantic six which went over the deep mid wicket region.

The ball connected from the sweet spot of the bat and there was nothing the bowler could do as everyone became a spectator.

Stars post 165 in a must win encounter

In a must-win clash in the Melbourne Derby, Stars lost wickets in a flurry, but Maxwell was the lone warrior as he stood tall and his 90-run knock helped the team post 165 on the board.

For the Renegades, four of their bowlers picked up 2 wickets each as the Renegades will still be disappointed after taking 5 early wickets.
