Haridwar Heroes will be up against Udhamsingh Nagar Tigers in Match 8 of the ongoing inaugural season of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL 2023) on Sunday, June 25, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun.
Team Previews
Udhamsingh Nagar Tigers have also played two matches so far in the tournament. The Tigers had a horrible start to their campaign as they suffered a humiliating defeat against the Dehradun Dabangs in the very first match of the tournament. However, they managed to bounce back well and got the better of Tehri Titans in their second match to open their account.
As a result, they are currently sitting at third position in the league standings with two points after two games. Avneesh Sudha and his men will be keen to continue their winning momentum and climb up the ladder with another win here in this match.
On the other hand, Haridwar Heroes have had a very poor start to their campaign as they have lost each of their first two matches in the tournament. They were first beaten by the Pithoragarh Champs and later by the table toppers Dehradun Dabangs in their second fixture. They failed to defend their total in both the games after taking the game till the last over. However, it's their batting which has failed to put up a good total on the board on both the occasions. As a result, they are placed 5th in the points table with zero points after two matches.
Coming into this match, the Heroes would like to break their losing streak badly as losing another game from here will eventually end their campaign in the competition.

The surface at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has been showing contrasting behaviors throughout the tournament. There is a good amount of help for the bowlers initially as scoring runs has not been easy against the new ball. However, it does get better for batting with time and therefore bowling first should be the ideal option after winning the toss. The first innings score is expected to be around 160.
