Tristan Stubbs is one of the most talented youngsters in world cricket currently, and after some taking some time to adjust to the international cricket, the right-handed batter is finally living upto his billing. He has been in good form in recent times across formats with runs in the Caribbean, and now against Ireland in Abu Dhabi, the South African youngster smashed his maiden century to power his team to a commanding win.

Stubbs scored unbeaten 112 off 81 balls and South Africa hammered 343 while batting first which proved too much for Ireland in the end. Temba Bavuma, the South African captain decided to bat first after winning the toss and the Proteas got off to a good start as well with opening stand of 78 runs. Bavuma got retired hurt for 35 while Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen scored 40 and 35 each.

Tristan Stubbs came out to bat in the 24th over after the wicket of Rassie van der Dussen and was busy right from the onset. There were any dot balls early in his innings and that enabled South Africa to keep Ireland under pressure as Kyle Verreynne at the other end also batted beautifully. Verreynee fell for 67 and Stubbs got to his fifty in the 37th over off 45 balls.

South Africa Take Unassailable Lead Of 2-0 In The Three-Match ODI Series

The South African mixed caution with aggression till the death overs, and finally unleashed his full might in the 46th over as he thumped Hume for two sixes and a four in a single over and then went onto reach his century off 75 balls in the 48th over. He stayed unbeaten till the end and hit eight fours and three sixes in his knock. In the first game too, Tristan Stubbs scored 79 off 86 balls on a tricky pitch and both his knocks has helped South Africa take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series.

In the first game, Ireland were bowled out for just 132 while in the second match too they could muster only 169 runs as South African bowlers delivered a combined bowling effort after Stubbs' special maiden ODI century.
