In a surprising move by the Rajasthan Royals, they have decided to sent in Riyan Parag as the impact player to replace Yashasvi Jaiswal.
With 4 wickets down for the Royals inside 64 runs, Kumar Sangakkara made a bold move and decided to sent in an under-fire Parag to bolster the RR batting against a quality Gujarat Titans side.
The Rajasthan management had shown a lot of faith in Parag, but the youngster has failed to perform on the field, with strings of low scores - 7, 20, 7, 5, 15* in the last 5 IPL matches.
He was eventually dropped from the playing XI and the youngster Dhruv Jurel was preferred over him.
Talking about the ongoing IPL match, the Titans are all over the Royals. Interestingly, Parag once again failed in the match and was trapped lbw by Rashid Khan for just 4.
The impact substitute by Sangakkara failed to pay off as the Indian middle-order batter’s slump continued and he departed without much of a trouble for the opposition.
At the moment, RR are tottering at 69 for 5 inside 10 overs.
