The 43rd match of IPL 2025 between CSK and SRH turned out to be an interesting low-scoring game, but in the end the visitors have managed to win the game by five wickets. It is the first time CSK have lost against SRH at their den, Chepauk Stadium, and it shows how poor CSK's performances have been in IPL 2025.
SRH Breach Fortress Chepauk In A Low-Scoring Affair
This was SRH's sixth game at the Chepauk against CSK, and after losing to the Yellove Army by 78 runs in IPL 2024, they have finally broken the jinx. CSK had a record of 5-0 at home before this loss, but this time around, SRH adjusted pretty well to the conditions at the Chepauk. The win has kept SRH's hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive, and they have moved to the eighth position with six points in their kitty.
CSK, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the table and have just four points in their kitty after nine matches. The maximum they can reach from here is 14 points, and with their net run-rate also pretty poor, CSK's practical hopes of making it to the playoffs are almost over. One more loss and they would be officially out of the tournament.
Pat Cummins' Boys Show Adaptability At CSK's Den
Talking about the match, it started with Pat Cummins winning the toss, and it proved to be quite useful. CSK youngsters batted with intent, but their batting group failed as a unit again, and were bowled out for 154 with Harshal Patel bagging four wickets.
In reply, SRH lost Abhishek Sharma early, and CSK did create inroads in the middle overs to keep themselves in the game. However, Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Reddy displayed great composure under pressure and took their team over the line in the penultimate over.
