Sai Sudharsan has been in great form in IPL 2025, and in the game against DC, he took his game to the next level with a fantastic 56-ball hundred. Shubman Gill, on the other hand, also played a stunning unbeaten knock of 93 and together they humiliated DC by chasing a target of 200 without losing a single wicket.

Sai Sudharsan-Gill's Record Stand Help GT Qualify For Playoffs

Gujarat Titans chased down the target in 19 overs and have officially qualified for the playoffs alongside RCB and PBKS. Sai Sudharsan was the one who finished off the chase with a brilliant six, and stayed unbeaten on 108 from 61 balls.

GT were chasing the target of 200 after KL Rahul scored his fifth IPL century. The target was gettable but it did not look like an easy chase. However, the duo of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill were in different mood and never let DC take control of the game. Sai Sudharsan started off with a bang, finding gaps at regular intervals while Gill took some time to get set.

Both the player kept the required rate under check in the middle overs with clever batting and as the target came close, they again accelerated to take their team over the line with one over to spare. Sai Sudharsan also became the leading run-scorer of the season, and is now the proud owner of the Orange cap.

The stand between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan is the third highest opening stand in the league's history.  They have scored 839 runs together this season, and now have most runs by an Indian pair in one IPL season. GT have 18 points in their kitty now, and are looking favourites to grab the top-2 spot, while DC's route to playoffs has got tougher.
