DC beat RCB by 6 wickets to secure a commanding victory in the 24th match of IPL 2025. Batting first, Bengaluru batters struggled to score runs at a brisk pace and settled for 163-run total. While DC also flattered in the chase, KL Rahulโs one-man show steered Delhi to a commanding win.
Hereโs how RCB vs DC panned out in Bengaluru:
Phil Salt Walks Back After Terrible Mix-Up With Virat Kohli
RCB batted first and had a flyer start in the powerplay. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli took Mitchell Starc to the cleaners, slamming 30 runs off his third over, including 3 sixes and as many 4s. With the stage set, Bengaluru was expected to have a big powerplay until a mix-up while running between the wickets cost Salt his wicket.

He punched a shot to the leg side and ran for a single. While Kohli sent him back, Salt slipped on his way back and was caught short on the crease after Vipraj Nigam fired a quick throw to wicket-keeper KL Rahul. Soon after Salt departed on 37 off 17, Virat Kohli was also undone by Nigam as he holed out to Starc.
Tim Davidโs Finish Helps RCB Post Competitive Total
The middle order of RCB collapsed under pressure. Captain Rajat Patidar could only score 25 off 23 balls. Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma walked back on 4 and 3 runs respectively. However, Tim David unleashed his fire in death overs. He hit 4 sixes and 2 fours to contribute 37 runs off just 20 balls. Owing to his finishing knock, RCB managed to post a total of 163 runs at the end of the first inning.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Rocks Delhi With Splendid Spell
The Chinnaswamy wicket tested batters in this game as Delhi Capitals openers, Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk fell in the powerplay. Faf went on to attack Yash Dayal but only managed a leading edge which landed in the safe hands of Rajat Patidar at mid-off.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a beautiful spell with the new ball and got rid of Jake. He bowled a back-of-the-length delivery and the batter went for an ambitious swipe across the line, only to manage a thick edge behind. Kumar also dismissed Abhishek Porel in the 5th over to reduce DC to 30/3.
KL Rahulโs Masterclass Steers DC To Thumping Win
RCB bowlers did their best to restrict DCโs scoring rate in the middle overs. However, KL Rahul kept his calm and built a steady knock of 50 off 37 balls. With Tristan Stubbs also safeguarding his wicket at the other end, Rahul launched a brutal attack against Josh Hazlewood.
In the 15th over, KL slammed Josh for 22 runs, including 3 fours and a six to completely change the momentum of the game in DCโs favour. With 30 needed off the last 4 overs, Rahul went all out to slam an outstanding 93* runs knock off 53 balls and helped Delhi wrap up the chase in 17.5 overs. With that 6-wicket win, DC have become the only unbeaten team in IPL 2025 so far.
