Inspection at 8:45 PM IST for IND vs ENG (X.com)
As the latest update comes from Guyana's Providence Stadium, the sun is out and there will be an inspection by umpires at 8:45 PM IST on Thursday to decide when to start the high-voltage T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England.
The weather forecast was not great, of course. Yet, there is a hope that a 10-over match, which must take place for a result in the knockouts at the ICC events, will happen. As things stand, hopes are high since the toss was delayed due to heavy downpour.
South Africa have already confirmed a place in the final, having defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets in a thumping manner. They will wait for the winner of this semi-final, where a washed-out fixture will take India to the summit clash.
Nevertheless, the abandonment is unlikely to happen as per the current weather conditions. The toss will take place at 8:50 PM IST, and the match will get underway at 9:15 PM IST.
India, meanwhile, are still unbeaten in the tournament. England, on the other hand, were defeated by South Africa and Australia in their journey.
