The 8th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 will be played between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United on Thursday, February 22 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan.

Quetta Gladiators 

The Quetta Gladiators have kicked off their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 campaign with a bang, securing victories in both of their matches played thus far.

Quetta Gladiators came out swinging in their first match, scoring a whopping 206 runs in 20 overs with just five wickets down. Then they shut Peshawar Zalmi down, limiting them to 190 runs in response. 

In their most recent outing, the Gladiators shook off the odds and secured a historic win over Lahore Qalandars, marking their first-ever win against them in Lahore in PSL history.   

Jason Roy, Saud Shakeel, and Khawaja Nafay have been absolutely destructive with the bat, while Mohammed Amir, Akeal Hossein, Mohammed Waseem Jr., and Mohammad Hasnain have impressed with their bowling. 


Islamabad United

On the other hand, Islamabad United kicked off their tournament campaign with a mixed performance, winning their opening game but losing the very next match out of the two they have played so far.

Islamabad United thrashed the reigning champions, Lahore Qalandars, by eight wickets in a high-octane game. The Shadab Khan-led side chased down the target of 196 runs to claim the victory. 

However, they couldn't keep up the pace in the second game and ended up losing to last season's runner-up, Multan Sultans, by five wickets. 

However, they didn't go down without a fight, as Multan just managed to chase down the 145-run target on the second last ball. They will look to bounce back stronger in this game.
