RCB beat PBKS by 7 wickets to win the 37th match of IPL 2025. Punjab failed to use home advantage and succumbed to a lowly total of 157 in the first inning. In the chase, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli’s 103-run partnership helped Bengaluru nail a perfect victory.

Here’s how PBKS vs RCB panned out in Chandigarh:

Krunal Pandya Torments Punjab’s Top Order

Punjab Kings batted first and Prabhsimran Singh had a 42-run opening partnership with Priyansh Arya. However, just when the partnership looked threatening, Krunal Pandya rolled his magical arm to get rid of the opening duo.

First, Priyansh fell trying to go big but sliced it straight to Tim David, and then Prabhsimran, who was on fire with a blazing 33 off 17, also holed out to David trying to clear long-on. With those two wickets, PBKS were down to 2 wickets with 62 runs on board.

RCB Bowlers Restrict PBKS To 157

After Krunal Pandya’s dual blow, Suyash Sharma also showcased his magic. He dismissed Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis in his economical spell of 2/26. Nehal Wadhera, the man in sublime form, was sent back after Tim David and Virat Kohli ran him out. Wadhera had a miscommunication with Inglis as both batters ended up on the non-striker end.

While Shashank Singh protected his wicket, he could only contribute 31 runs off 33 balls faced with just a single boundary. Marco Jansen also hit 25 off 20 balls to guide PBKS to 157 runs total.

RCB In Commanding Position After Devdutt-Kohli’s Partnership

The pitch of Chandigarh was tricky as Phil Salt fell prey to Arshdeep Singh in the powerplay, resulting in an early wicket for RCB in the chase. However, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli batted brilliantly and formed a mature partnership. Padikkal timed his shots well and found boundaries at regular interviews which kept the required run rate in check.

Both batters added 103 runs for the second wicket before Padikkal was sent packing by Harpreet Brar on 61 off 35 balls. However, Kohli took his time on the other end, hitting a 43-ball half-century.

RCB Take Perfect Revenge To Beat PBKS At Home

After scoring a fifty, Virat Kohli switched gears, hitting 10 runs off Yuzvendra Chahal’s 17th over. With 8 runs needed off the last 2 overs, Jitesh Sharma hit a six to finish off in style. Kohli finished with an unbeaten 73 off 54 balls to guide RCB to a dominant 7-wicket victory.
