Orange And Purple Cap Winner: Who Tops The List In IPL 2025 After RR vs LSG Game?

After two incredible matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where Gujarat Titans won in the afternoon game and Lucknow Super Giants in the evening, there were back-to-back thrillers. In the first game, Gujarat Titans chased down 204, while Lucknow Super Giants defended 181 in the second match.

The Titans won in the final over with four deliveries to spare, courtesy of Jos Buttler's incredible 97* after Prasidh Krishna bowled an incredible spell of 4 for 41 in his four overs. On the other hand, the Lucknow Super Giants were powered by Aiden Markram's 66 and Ayush Badoni's 50, while Abdul Samad's 10-ball 30* was only bettered by their main pacer, Avesh Khan (3 /37), who bowled them to victory in the final over.

Buttler, who played an incredible knock of 97* has jumped to third position with 315 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, with an oustanding 74, is now fourth, whereas Mitchell Marsh has slipped down to fifth after scoring just four in this encounter.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap List

On the purple cap charts, there has been a tectonic shift, with Noor Ahmad slipping down to second position for the first time since he was the holder of the cap, as Prasidh Krishna picked four wickets in the afternoon game for 41 runs and has now jumped to the top of the table with 14 wickets to his name so far in seven matches at an average of 14.35 and an economy of 7.44. 

DC's Kuldeep Yadav, who bowled his four overs for 30 runs and a single wicket, is also joint second with 12 wickets to his name in seven games, while Josh Hazlewood has fallen down to fourth position, while Shardul Thakur, who in the evening afternoon encounter grabbed a single wicket to his name, is also joint second with 12 wickets in eight games.
