In what turned out to be a super Sunday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Rajasthan Royals in the afternoon encounter. Whereas in the evening game, Mumbai Indians achieved their second victory of the season against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

While Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the game by nine wickets, the MI side reached home by 12 runs in a thrilling encounter.

From the Rajasthan side, Yashasvi Jaiswal thumped a brilliant 75, while Bengaluru's openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, smashed 65 and 628, respectively, to help their side to victory with 15 deliveries to spare as they chased down 174.

In the second game of the day, Tilak Varma played a fabulous 59-run knock, while Ryan Rickelton's 41 and Suryakumar Yadav's 40 were backed by Naman Dhir's 17-ball 38* run cameo, helping Mumbai reach 205. After which, impact player Karan Nair, playing his first game of the season for DC, banged 89 off just 40 deliveries but couldn't see his side over the line, as they lost a tense game by just 12 runs.

After the 29th game of the Indian Premier League, Nicholas Pooran still holds the orange cap with 349 runs after playing six matches, while Sai Sudharsan maintains his second position, whereas Mitchell Marsh is third.

Below them is Shreyas Iyer with 250 runs after four matches, while Virat Kohli, who played a fabulous 62* run knock, has moved to fifth place with 248 runs after six matches, at an average of 62 and a strike rate of 143.35.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap List

On the purple cap charts, Noor Ahmad is still at the top with 12 wickets from six matches, while Shardul Thakur is second with 11 wickets. Delhi's Kuldeep Yadav, who bowled a magnificent spell of 2 for 23 in his four overs, has moved up the charts to third position with 10 wickets in five games, while Hardik Pandya, MI's skipper, who bowled two overs without any success while giving away 21 runs, has slipped to fourth position with 10 wickets.

Meanwhile, GT's Prasidh Krishna, who was fourth earlier, is now fifth on the table with 10 wickets in six matches. The bottom three share the third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively, with 10 wickets apiece, only being separated by their average and economy rate.
