For Match 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss against a robust New Zealand lineup to bowl first in Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday. The Dutch have made a couple of changes as all-rounder Sybrand Engelbrecht will be making his debut today.

Apart from Engelbrecht, pacer Ryan Klein has been included in the Playing XI after maestro seamer Logan van Beek got ruled out of the game with an injury.

For the Black Caps, stand-in skipper Tom Latham will continue donning the captain's hat as their regular captain and star batter Kane Williamson is yet to regain full fitness. However, interestingly, Lockie Ferguson - who missed the World Cup opener against England due to a niggle - has retained his berth in place of Jimmy Neesham.

Although Williamson and Tim Southee are yet to return to the playing party.

NZ vs NED: Playing XIs

Netherlands: Vikramjit Singh, Max O'Dowd, Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, Scott Edwards (c and wk), Sybrand Engelbrecht, Paul van Meekeren, Roelof van der Merwe, Ryan Klein, Aryan Dutt

New Zealand: Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c and wk), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson

"We would have had a bowl. Looks a decent surface. Second game on this track and a practise game happened here. So, look to put the runs on the board. and defend later," Tom Latham said at the toss.

"The guys were brilliant the last game against England. The bowlers bowled well and then that partnership between Conway and Rachin was magnificent for the icing on the cake. But that was two days ago and now we are focussed on today. New day and new beginning. One change for us. Lockie Ferguson comes in place of James Neesham."

"We are gonna bowl first. Yeah, from the last game, it seems like bowling first is a good choice, as the conditions for bowling are good first-up. No real dew factor. We are in a good space," Scott Edwards mentioned.

Despite missing a couple of their main players, the Kiwis kickstarted their World Cup campaign with a bang, thrashing the reigning champions, England, by nine wickets with 13.4 remaining in the game.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands had Pakistan's neck in their grip for most of the first innings, reducing the Men Green to 188-6 at one moment, but from there, they allowed them to put 286 runs on the board. However, they will look to transpire a better performance in this clash.
