Pakistan's Noman Ali delivered an outstanding spell by taking seven-wicket haul in the second innings of the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Colombo. This marks the fourth occasion where Ali has achieved five wickets or more in Test cricket.

His remarkable feat not only earned him recognition but also secured a place for him in the record books, as he became the third oldest Pakistani bowler to claim five wickets in a single innings of a Test match.

At 36 years and 296 days old, Noman became the third oldest Pakistan bowler to achieve the remarkable feat of taking five wickets in an innings during a Test match. This accomplishment puts him in esteemed company alongside the likes of Mohammad Nazir and Saeed Ajmal.

In the match, Noman was responsible for claiming the initial seven wickets, while the fast bowler Naseem Shah took charge and secured the last three wickets. This impressive performance by the bowlers led to Sri Lanka being bowled out for 188 during the final session. Prior to this, Pakistan had declared their first innings on an impressive score of 576-5.

With this win, Pakistan is dominating the current WTC cycle points table with 24 points for their 2 Test matches against Sri Lanka.
