India's pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah made his much-awaited comeback in the first T20I against Ireland on Friday. The seamer, who was sidelined due to a stress fractured, delivered the goods, alongside another comeback man, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi, as the trio shared 6-wickets amongst them.

Despite losing half the side for 31, Ireland made a strong recovery, and posted a decent 139 on the board, courtesy of some sublime batting from Curtis Campher and Barry McCarthy.

Indian bowlers push Ireland on back-foot

Bumrah, bowling the first over of the game couldn't have asked for a better start as the seam bowler scalped two wickets on his return to international return.

Wickets continued to tumble from the other end as well, when Prasidh Krishna, made the new ball talk and got the prized scalp of Harry Tector. Things turned from bad to worse for the Irish batters, when Ravi Bishnoi, outfoxed Paul Stirling with a googly and knocked over his stumps.

Prasidh made his return more memorable as the scorecard soon turned from 27 for 4 to 31 for 5, as Ireland looked clueless against some high-quality bowling.

Irish batters make a strong comeback

With their backs against the walls, Ireland batters decided to take the attack to the opposition. Led by Campher, who started the repair work alongside Mark Adair. The duo added 28 runs for the 6th wicket, and gave a small ray of hope to their side.

Bishnoi got the crucial wicket of Adair, but Ireland looked unfazed as Campher (39 off 33) pressed the accelerator and forged a formidable partnership with Barry McCarthy.

The boundary floodgates opened as the duo added important 57 runs for the 7th wicket. Despite Campher's wicket, McCarthy continued the onslaught and slammed a brilliant 33-ball 51*, which has taken Ireland to a decent total against a strong Indian batting lineup.
