Delhi Capitals: 144-9 (20) (Manish Pandey 34 (27), Axar Patel 34 (34), Washington Sundar 3-28) beat (Sunrisers Hyderabad: 137-6 (20) Mayank Agarwal 49 (39), Heinrich Klaasen 31 (19), Axar Patel 2-21, Anrich Nortje 2-33) by 7 runs.

All-Round Bowling Performance by SRH Restrict Delhi Capitals to 144

Delhi Capitals have been struggling with the bat throughout the season and it was yet another similar day in the office for DC batters. They lost Philip Salt in the third delivery of the game with Bhuvi showing his vintage skills with the new ball and then Marsh too departed in the Powerplay after threatening to take the game on. Warner though was still in the crease but once he perished off the bowling of Washington Sundar in the 8th over, DC lost couple of wickets more in that same over as they ended up crumbling to 62-5 in no time.

Axar and Manish Pandey then stitched together a 69-run stand but they never could up the ante and some brilliant death bowling by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and company restricted DC to 144.

Delhi Capitals Bowlers Outclass Sunrisers Hyderabad Batters with Sheer Fighting Spirit

Delhi Capitals were under the pump coming into the second half but at no point they looked like a team under pressure. All their bowlers bowled with great intensity as SRH openers failed to get going. Brook's struggle came to an end in the 6th over when Nortje knocked over his stumps and then spinners joined into to choke Hyderabad batters. Both Tripathi and Agarwal struggled to up the ante and then both of them departed in the consecutive overs to put the rest of the batters coming in under tremendous pressure. Agarwal lost his wicket in the 12th over that created a panic and from 69-1, SRH were reduced to 85-5 with Aiden Markram too back in the pavilion. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav were simply brilliant and picked three wickets between them.

It came down to SRH needing 56 off 30 balls and it was upto the pair of Klaasen and Washington Sundar to take them over the line. Klaasen then staged a mini-comeback for SRH and the equation came down to 23 off 12 balls but Nortje got rid of his Klaasen in the penultimate over putting DC back on top. It was Mukesh Kumar then who bowled a brilliant last over as SRH failed to get 13 runs that were needed to seal the game in the last over.
