In the first T20 at Mohali, India breezed past Afghanistan with an eight-wicket victory. Team India owned the game from the start, restricting Afghanistan to 158 runs in 20 overs. Mukesh Kumar and Axar Patel shone with two wickets each, and Shivam Dube took one.

In reply, team India didn't break a sweat chasing down the target in 17.3 overs. Meanwhile, it was a forgettable outing for Captain Rohit Sharma in his T20I comeback as he got run out for a duck. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube was the star of the show, unleashing an unbeaten 60 from 40 balls.

Also, Virat Kohli returns to the lineup for the second match after sitting out the first. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was out in the last game, could continue to miss out. Team India is likely to stick with the winning formula, keeping Shivam Dube and Axar Patel, the heroes from the last match, in the mix.

On the other hand, without the services of their main spinner Rashid Khan, Afghanistan put on a respectable show but couldn't pose a serious threat to the Indian team. Their top order showed promise, but the challenge lies in converting those starts into big scores, something one can expect from them in the second T20I.

The seasoned campaigner Mohammad Nabi was in exceptional form, scoring 42 runs from 27 balls, with two boundaries and three towering sixes. However, the other batters failed to complement his standout performance.

On another front, Afghanistan needs to enhance their bowling performance, especially with experienced bowlers like Nabi, Naveen Ul Haq, and Gulbadin Naib, all having economy rates higher than 12.

Only Mujeeb Ur Rahman looked in exceptional form, picking up two wickets and conceding only 21 runs in a four-over spell. Heading into this game, the visitors will aim to bounce back stronger and level the series at 1-1.
