In a remarkable achievement, swashbuckling South African batter Heinrich Klaasen claimed the orange cap in the IPL 2024 during SRH's ongoing group-stage match against Mumbai Indians. Klaasen, who struck a belligerent fifty in the game, dethroned Virat Kohli to attain the milestone. 

Notably, Kohli got the orange cap following his batting exploits against Punjab Kings. Klaasen, coming at number five, hammered the Mumbai bowlers to all parts of the ground, eventually claiming the prestigious cap.

After being put into bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a flying start to their innings, with Travis Head stunning MI with a breathtaking 24-ball 62, studded with nine fours and three sixes. 

Abhishek Sharma also starred with the bat for the Hyderabad-based franchise, amassing 63 runs off only 23 balls before being dismissed by Piyush Chawla. 

The South African duo of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen contributed handsomely, as SRH overtook RCB's tally of 263 runs to post the highest-ever total in IPL history.
