West Indies star Chinelle Henry went berserk for the UP Warriorz franchise in match number eight of the WPL 2025 season against Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru. Batting at number eight, Chinelle blasted 62 runs from just 23 deliveries to catapult Warriorz to an imposing 177-9 from 20 overs after slipping to 109-7 at one stage of the match.
Through the course of her knock, the explosive lower-order batter also soared past the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma for a huge WPL record.
Chinelle Henry records fastest WPL fifty
Chinelle Henry made her way into the crease following the dismissal of Uma Chetry at 89-6 in the 14th over of the match. With less than six overs remaining in the innings, Chinelle smeared 62 runs from just 23 deliveries with two boundaries and eight huge sixes to catapult the UP Warriorz total to a commanding 177-9.
Notably, the 29-year-old notched up her 50th run from just 18 balls to level up with Gujarat Giants’ Sophia Dunkley from 2023 to record the joint fastest half-century in the history of the WPL, going past the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma in the process. Chinelle Henry was added to the UP Warriorz squad as a replacement of legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter and team captain Alyssa Healy mere days prior to the launch of the WPL 2025 season.
