The World Cup 2023 is slowly and steadily moving towards its business end with India becoming the first team to qualify for the semis. Pakistan, on the other hand, find themselves in a tricky position where they need to win all their remaining games and also need other results to go their way. They will be going up against New Zealand in a crucial encounter at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru which will go a long way in determining their fate in the tournament.

Now, ahead of the game against Kiwis, Pakistan's team director, Mickey Arthur has come up with a pretty controversial statement where he has compared Pakistan's security in the World Cup to Covid restrictions.

Arthur claimed that players are finding it difficult to huge security as their have been plenty of restrictions on their movement, creating frustration among players. He added that travelling is not a problem for the team but being restricted to one floor in a hotel or in their respective rooms has taken a toll on players.

"As a Pakistan team, we play a hell of a lot of cricket so being on the road is nothing new for these guys. What has been tough is the fact that we've been under a massive amount of security. So, I've been sort of taken aback."

"I found it difficult. It's almost like we've been back in the Covid times, where you were almost secluded to your floor and your team room.So much so that their breakfast is in a separate room to everybody else. That's been the tough aspect."

Many Pakistan players have been down with fever and various other health issues throughout this World Cup 2023 which Pakistan's pacer attributed to 'room sickness'. However, given the political tensions between India and Pakistan, the security of 'Men in Green' naturally has to be tight as things can go out of proportions even in a event of slight lapse in security.
