Ashwin-Jadeja Become Legendary Pair For India; Surpass Kumble-Harbhajan

The dynamic spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have outshone Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble to claim the title of India's most successful bowling duo in Test history. 

The duo notched up their 502nd wicket together in the ongoing Test, surpassing the previous record held by Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, who had managed to take 501 wickets in 54 Test matches.

After England's bold 'Bazball' kickoff in the match, Ashwin and Jadeja were right on target. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley stood firm at 55/0 against Bumrah and Siraj's swing, but the spin duo conjured up a mini-collapse. 

With three quick wickets, the duo leapfrogged Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble in the Test wicket tally. It all happened when Ashwin dismissed Zak Crawley for 20 after Jadeja took care of Ollie Pope.

Before the Test began, the Indian pair was one wicket shy of the former spin twins' count. Notably, Harbhajan holds the third position in this tally, having taken 474 wickets alongside pacer Zaheer Khan. 

Overall, James Anderson and Stuart Broad, the celebrated English duo, have clinched the record for the highest number of wickets in international cricket, with 1039 dismissals to their name. 

Broad bid farewell to all forms of international cricket after the 2023 Ashes. Australia's Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne stand as the only duo, apart from Broad, to secure over a thousand wickets (1001) in Test cricket.
