Match no. 22: New York Strikers vs Northern Warriors
In what was an absolute nail-biter of a game, New York Strikers' Eoin Morgan gave an outstanding performance to steal the show.
After winning the toss, Warriors decided to hold the bat in their hands first. Batting extremely well to thump 143 with the help of their Rovman Powell who was upto the task with his 19-ball blitz scoring 54.
Usman Khan played a decent innings of 48 runs from 25 deliveries where he was helped his close in a gigantic total. Hosein, Thompson, and Pollard got wicket-a-piece to their name.
Coming out to bat, Strikers' opener Andre Fletcher departed on the initial delivery, causing skipper Morgan to enter the arena. Along with Paul Stirling, there were considerable effort to keep themselves in the chase but the Irishman fell too for just 15 runs.
Azam Khan and Kieran Pollard lost their wickets for 16 and 0, respectively putting a lot of pressure on them. However, it was a one man show from former English captain who thwacked 87 not out from 35 with three sixes and 12 fours to his name.
While 4 were required off the last ball, the left-hander did the job for his side to make them triumph. Mohammad Irfan from Warriors ended with three wickets to his name.
