Batting first, the Caribbean team rode on the terrific performances from Adrian Barath (62), Kraigg Brathwaite (68) and Kirk Edwards (86). Arriving at number four, Darren Bravo (166) ensured the momentum continued, steering the team to a mammoth total on the board.
Kieran Powell (81) and Marlon Samuels (61) were also significant contributors, powering the visitors to a massive 590 in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers for India with five scalps.
In reply, Gautam Gambhir (55) and Virender Sehwag (37) provided a fine start to India. Then, Sachin Tendulkar (94), Rahul Dravid (82) and Virat Kohli (52) were impressive in guiding the team. However, it was Ashwin's fabulous 103 that helped India finish on 482.
